Avril Lavigne

Avril Ramona Lavigne Whibley[9] (born September 27, 1984), better known by her birth name Avril Lavigne (pronounced /ˈævrɨl ləˈviːn/), is a Canadian singer-songwriter, fashion designer, and actress. Lavigne has sold more than 30 million copies of her albums worldwide.[10] She is currently one of the top-selling artists releasing albums in the United States, with over 10.25 million copies certified by the Recording Industry Association of America.[11] She has been dubbed as the 'pop-punk princess' by various sources.

Clad in Converse sneakers and baggy skater jeans, punk-tinged rocker Avril Lavigne burst onto the music scene at 16 with pop songs "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi." Though in her early days she made headlines for her wild fashion sense and verbal clashes with pop's Hilary Duff and Britney Spears, the petite singer briefly refined her image by donning Chanel couture and appearing in fashion magazines like Harper's Bazaar.
