What a Modeling Agency Wants

I am not going to tell you whether or not you should or shouldn't pursue the high fashion field as a career. But, I can offer a few pointers regarding what a high-end talent or model agency will be looking for.

How Tall are You?: Start with your height. This is a crucial aspect. The high fashion industry has certain demands.

For men, they're looking for a height between 5'11 and 6'3". Typically you won't see male models shorter or taller than this. When a male model paid a visit to Elite modeling agency in Chicago, they expressed that 6'1" is ideal.

As for the girls, it's generally more like 5'8" to 6'. Ideally you are looking at 5'10" with very few exceptions.

How You Look?: You get paid to look a certain way. Obviously you should look your best before approaching a major model agency. You will find plenty, and I mean plenty, of fellow aspiring young models to compete with. Get used to it.

1) You must be a Hard Body: When some young women decide to dabble in the business of high fashion modeling, one place they misinterpret is their physique! It doesn't matter if you are male of female; you need a stellar body for high end modeling.

This young lady's body just wasn't buff enough. While she wasn't fat at all, she didn't have enough muscles and proportions either. Guys should be ripped, and girls should have well-toned bodies. A high-end model agency will demand this.

2) Measure Your Body Fat: So you girls cannot simply look in the mirror and think you are slim enough. Measure your body fat. You may appear slim, but is what you have lean muscle or fat?

Physique is a major key! If you plan to earn a living from your looks, you had better bring your best game to the table.
